Good luck in Germany!

Koji and Asako from Japan have been traveling through Europe for a year to see if they wanted to immigrate to our continent. We met already in 2012 when they stayed at our location for several weeks, enjoying farm life, the horses, getting used to Dutch/Belgium traditions, food etc. We had a lot of fun together. Koji and Asako cooked traditional Japanese food for us while Oscar prepared Dutch meals for them with a Belgium beer on the side. Both are good riders and I tried to teach them as much about gaited horses and Centered Riding as possible. Koji came from a jumping stable so there were some adjustments necessary but it worked out well.

Earlier this year we could use some helping hands around the farm and luckily Koji and Asako were willing and able to spend some more weeks in Belgium. Koji worked with Anouck, Marsie, Beetle and also helped out with the horses in training while Asako was mainly grooming and helping me babysitting Lucas. It was very nice to have such good and reliable people at the farm. I don't know what I should have done without them in this difficult time due to health issues. Thanks to them I had more time to recover and am now feeling great again. We enjoyed the Sushi, the Japanese soup, eating with chopsticks etc. Smarty is still missing Asako who pampered him and carried him around as a baby all day long.

Meanwhile Koji and his wife found a job at Paul Schockemöhle in Germany where they moved to last month. They are doing what they do best and enjoy every moment. It didn't come as a surprise that they adopted a black cat, called German Smarty but we all know no one beats the one and only traditional Mr. Smarty himself.

We wish Koji and Asako a great life in Germany and hope to see each other again soon.
